Notes on Phylum Porifera and its Function

 Phylum :- PORIFERA 



                    

— They are Spongy.

— They are marine and mostly Asymmetrical.
— They are multicellular animal.

— Sponges have water transport or canal system.

— Water enter through minut spores into body wall and to spongocel from where is go to osculum. 



( * Osculum :- Through which water expelled out ) 


— Through this path they gether found respiratory exchange and waste removal.

— Digestion is intracellular.

— The skeleten is made up of spicules and spongin fibres.

— Sexes are not separated ( Hermophrodites ).

— Sponges reproduce asexually by fragmentation and sexually by formation of gametes.

— Fertilization is internal and development in indirect having a larval stage which is morphologically distinct from the adult.



— EXAMPLE :- Sycon , Spongocoel
